What makes Xshielder different
Xshielder offers an Apple alternative to purpose-built Android devices for hazardous areas. Certified enclosures house unmodified iPhone and iPad devices, giving field workers familiar Apple hardware, cameras and software, including the 48 MP camera and LiDAR on the Pro Max.
Most protective covers for consumer phones stop at Zone 2/22. Xshielder enclosures carry ATEX and IECEx Zone 1/21 certification, backed by an EU-type examination certificate, a QAN and an IECEx QAR.
Standard iOS enrolls in Apple Business Manager and any MDM built on Apple’s framework, including Intune, Jamf and SAP. Lockdown guides, telecom approvals and certification documents are published for IT, HSE and procurement teams.
The patented enclosure opens after installation, so a damaged cover can be replaced. With five to six years of iOS updates, annual ownership cost can come down. At the end of its service life, the iPhone can retain residual value through trade-in or resale.
The Xshielder iPhone 17 weighs 330 g complete, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max 410 g. That counts on twelve-hour shifts and one-handed work on ladders and scaffolds.
